Dr. Bruce S. Shapiro. MD, PhD, FACOG

Dr. Bruce Shapiro completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale New Haven Hospital, finished his fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Yale University, and his Ph.D. at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Dr. Bruce Shapiro is specialty board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is sub-specialty board certified in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. He was recruited after his fellowship at Yale to establish the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology for the University of Nevada School of Medicine. Upon moving to Las Vegas, he founded the city’s first infertility practice-The Fertility Center of Las Vegas, as well. 

Led by Dr. Shapiro, The Fertility Center of Las Vegas is renowned for research that has advanced the science and practice of Reproductive Endocrinology. The doctor has presented research findings at professional conferences around the world. His research papers are widely and regularly published in respected medical journals.

Dr. Shapiro has developed techniques that make In Vitro Fertilization more effective and safer than ever before. His current research focuses on maximizing embryo implantation through careful attention to both embryo development and the receptivity of the endometrium. This research has led to some of the highest reported success rates in the US.

Under his direction, The Fertility Center of Las Vegas has grown from a small local facility to having a strong regional, national & international presence in the field of Reproductive Endocrinology. His dedicated staff assists patients at two state-of-the-art locations with 7 day a week availability year round.

Dr. Shapiro remains on faculty as director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at  the University of Nevada School of Medicine where he teaches medical students and residents.
